Lucila Micaela Martelli
Argentina
She was born in 1996 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since she was a kid, she has been interested in social and environmental issues. When she was in high-school, she volunteered in a day-care center for children who lived in a poor neighborhood. She studied Environmental Management and graduated with honors. After she graduated, she went to Vitória, Brazil, where she worked for 6 weeks as a volunteer in an NGO. There, she teacher kids and teens (that mostly lived in vulnerable neighborhoods) about the environment, as her project was related to SDG 13. She is working in Buenos Aires Environmental Protection Agency as an energy assessor. She focuses not only on technical but also on educational aspects, since she considers education is key to achieve social and behavioral changes.
She is also a member of CoCoS (Construcción de Consenso para la Sustentabilidad – Consensus Building for Sustainability), an organization that promotes dialogue as a way to reach agreements that consider everyone’s interests. They consider that technical solutions exist, but people do not know how to reach agreements, or do not listen to each other. Their primary concern is climate change, but consider that the tools that they promote can be used in any context, not only for environmental conflicts. She has been a teacher in several negotiation and dialogue facilitation workshops.
