SULAIMANI — Participants from 35 countries will gather on Wednesday (October 9) for Kurdistan’s first Global Peace Summit at the Kurdistan Parliament building in Erbil.
Representatives from the Kurdistan Region’s presidency, the Parliament, and the ministries are expected to attend.
Many participants received full funding to attend the conference, which was organized by NGO Global Peace Chain.
The conference will promote the message of “peace and coexistence through dialogue.”
Executive Director of the Peace Summit Kamran Zafar said that “Global Peace Chain envisions to build resilience, cultivate the culture of tolerance, inclusivity, interfaith harmony across the border through peace camps.”
According to its website, the organization holds interactive sessions and peace talks with society stakeholders, diplomats, ambassadors, influential community groups, UN officials, religious scholars and community based organization across the globe.
