“Yves Franck IRAKOZE, I am an entrepreneur and founder of Fort Barachel Burundi where I was born. I am a young man fully engaged in strengthening and empowering local communities. I believe that every human being can experience a full restoration of his wholeness, also that every country can see the social cohesion effective in it.
Having constantly been serving communities in a professional way for over twenty years, that shaped my personality and led me to a point where living for others offers me endless satisfaction. From being an English teacher, managing and tutoring an orphanage, passing by working closely with single moms, vulnerable women victims of all kind of violence for over five years (2011 to 2016), I was working for Burundi Christian Ministries, a non-profit organization created by First Baptist Church Windermere from Orlando in Florida. I am the National Director of Fort Barachel of the organization I created six years ago. I stand for values and principles set to enable our work to achieve our goals. I oversee and draw the general policy of the organization; I do several trips to get in touch with the people we serve in addition to decisions that are taken on budgets and projects to be done.
In addition to the work of managing the organization, I work as interpretation/ translation depending of the need since 2006. Two years after 2008, I was hired as part-time worker as one translators in another non-profit organization E3 Partners Ministry (a missionary organization from the United States). In January, 2011, I got another job permanently at Burundi Christian Ministries as I said; I was in charge of managing the orphanage. I also was working as pubic relation manager as well as a translator and focal point of the missionaries in the areas the organization was established.
Throughout the six years of the existence of our organization, the impact has been seen; stories and testimonies are shared between us and partners in one side, between local administration and beneficiaries. Here are the website and facebook page of our organization: www.fortbburundi.org and Fort Barachel Burundi. A healing atmosphere and real transformation of some people are evidences that our organization is a big plus in areas where we operate. What makes me up every single day is to see a community of people free from poverty and all sorts of dependency.
I have a bachelor in Political Science/International Relation from Universite du Lac Tanganyika”. In my plans I wanted to do Social Work, but my destiny was oriented elsewhere.”
