Yasemin Arsin calls herself “a global citizen with a Turkish passport.” Even though the corona virus has interrupted her international activities at some points, she is still very enthusiastic about making new friends from all around the world, hosting local and international travelers, staying with the locals wherever she travels. She has hosted 203 travelers on Couchsurfing so far, and used it as a guest in more than 30 countries. Couchsurfing is an international platform where locals host guests without any charge. She used to organize big informal events with Couchsurfers before the outbreak of the corona virus. At professional level she has been working as an Academic Relations and ELT Coordinator for ETS Global since August 2016. ETS Global is a subsidiary of ETS (Educational Testing Service), whose HQ is in Princeton, NJ, the US and which is one of the leading testing and assessment organizations in the world. She works within international teams from India, China, South Korea, Poland, the Netherlands, Jordan, France, the US and the UK. She worked as a teacher of English in Ankara, Turkey for 10 years before ETS Global, where she taught general and academic English to young adults and adults. She has been to 39 countries in the recent 7 years either for work or for pleasure. She has attended ELT conferences and trained English language teachers in person events in Israel, Lithuania, Germany, Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. She is currently very active in terms of virtual events, where she meets an international audience at all times. Yasemin is also a volunteer for Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion (TEMA) and a member of several ELT organizations (e.g. TESOL International Association, IATEFL, Eaquals, etc.)
