My name is Waynisha Sha’Dea Saunders and I’m from Nassau, Bahamas. I’m the former Global Youth Ambassador for Youth Opportunities representing The Bahamas in 2021, I’m a two-time National Youth Awardee and a Youth Parliamentarian in The Bahamas. I’m a youth activist and started an Organization in 2020 called Gen-Z Arise that’s devoted to encouraging Gen-Z’ers to use their voices and fight for a seat at the table. I’m the former Miss Teen Bahamas 2017 and speaker of the Youth House of Assembly. One of my favorite quotes is from Yara Shahidi that says “instead of inheriting a broken system, we have the power to change it” and that’s what I live by. Actively taking part and showing up to spaces that will invoke change.
