During my high school years in my spare time, I have actively participated in charity events and organized concert for Elders day and festival for disabled people “Voices of Life”. Also, I have taught English to children from low socioeconomic background as a part of UNICEF volunteering initiative. All of the above-mentioned volunteering experiences helped me to improve my communication, teamwork skills as well as compassion and empathy, which are key skills for making my apps suitable and convenient for needs of future users.
I believe that one has to be well-rounded and needs leadership skills for becoming, so I have focused on developing my leadership and oral skills. In 8th grade, I was a prime-minster of student government of my school. Here I learned how to manage conflicts and how to work in a team. I was so involved into student affairs, so in 9th and 10th grade I was elected as a president of School Government. I have initiated several important projects that improved quality of life of students such as peer-tutoring program. Moreover, I initiated recycling trash project, launched school radio and organizing career advising sessions with parents and students. On top of that, I have worked hard on developing my oral speech skills. I have participated in the Eurasian Lyceum Speech and debate cup 2019 and QSDA tournament of the academic year 2019-20.
My greatest fulfilment and the most rewarding experience comes from my involvement in the summer start-up camp in Malaysia where I learnt fundamentals of launching startup from scratch. This project has helped me confirm my passion for a career in creating mobile applications for disabled people and develop skills of time management, team work and exposure to insights of working in a startup.
What are your motivations to apply
One of main reasons for applying to this program is my strong desire to learn about peacebuilding and conflict resolution. I believe that it is an essential skill in the 21st century for global development. Moreover, I would like to participate in high-level debates with professionals and youth from all over the world in order to further develop my communication and presentation skills. By interacting with students in international environment, I will become more open-minded. In addition, Global Peace Chain Programme provides me with an unique opportunity to meet global peace ambassadors, discuss global issues and provide novel solutions for them. Also, it is a great chance for me to visit new place and broaden my horizons. Participating in this program, will act as a catalyst for my future career because of the above-mentioned reasons.
