I am Manan Liaqat a social activist working for the rights of million of out of schools children let me describe the current position of what we are doing for the community service, specifically for the street children of Pakistan.
Estimates suggest that Pakistan have around 1.5 million street children. And these staggering numbers are absolutely a burden on this country. Rather than just complaining on this, we took initiative on controlling these numbers. Since the initiative, we have made significant and remarkable contributions to control these numbers for the betterment of this great Pakistan.
We have been working for the underprivileged and Street Children of Pakistan from last 6 years. These street children are basically scavengers, laborers and baggers. And since we initiated this noble cause for these special kids, it’s been some journey to take these street children from street to school. Since 2017, when we initiated our First Street School in Gujrat (in the parking of Zahoor Elahi Stadium), and our second campus in total after the first one in a village named Buttar, started back in 2015; we accommodated more than 200 street children and out of them, 50+ are promoted to private schools after being highly groomed by our volunteers. The supervision of each and every volunteer was just remarkable throughout the tenure which made these street children, civilized citizens of Pakistan which is an absolute success of our organization as a whole. About 9 months ago, we inaugurated the first ever Street Container School of Pakistan, a state of the art container school fully equipped with highest level of technology needed for any school. We have an IT lab, Projector based system, Internet facility of online classes, fully air conditioned, a small playing area, and a library. All these for the grooming of these street children who are highly ignored and neglected by our community.
