Pakistan

Throughout my childhood I was the kid that always asks questions, and argues or debates if something doesn’t make sense. As the only sister having two elder brothers in a ‘Pakistani family’ I had to fight and prove myself to earn my place and respect. I dealt with a lot of repression but never gave in, and always fought my way out of it.
I am 24 years old, I’ve done associate engineering in electronics and currently I am an undergraduate student, having philosophy as the major subject. I am a self published author of the book called, “Philosophical Mini Treatises”; I published the book when I was 20. I am also the president of “PRSF” (Progressive Students Federation), which is a student body at my university. I have been actively involved in the progressive movements like, “Aurat March”, “Student’s Solidarity March”, and the “People’s Climate March” where I volunteered.
My interests have always revolved around subjects that require critical thinking and reasoning. That is the reason why I chose philosophy as a major for my undergraduate degree even after having an engineering background with a good academic record. All of these qualities of mine resonate with this particular program and this is the reason why I think I am competitive enough for it.
In the group my contribution will be to paint a picture of Pakistan that is a lot more diverse than it is usually portrayed. And to represent Pakistan as a nation that has a lot of potential as well as a rich cultural history.
