“Madelaine is a New York qualified Attorney from England, focused on pursuing a career dedicated to conflict resolution and public service, following transformative internships across Latin America and Africa during Covid-19 crisis. Madelaine is currently completing modules as part of the Master of International Law and Diplomacy with the University of Peace, having graduated with a Distinction in a Master in Law and Business Management at the University of Law and an Upper Second Class in a Bachelor of Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford.

Madelaine firmly believes that the rule of law is essential to justice, peace and social and economic success around the world. She currently works as a Trainee Solicitor at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in London and specialises in Dispute Resolution. She is also the Social Mobility Pro Bono Liaison and Co-Chair of the BAME Working Group. Madelaine’s international public law experience includes working with the UN human rights and treaty mechanisms, drafting an amicus brief and memorandum in support of a case before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and managing a pan-European team review of UN reports to create country conditions indexes related to the International Refugee Assistance Project, assisting Afghan and Peruvian refugees. Undaunted by the challenges posed by Covid-19, she provided vital humanitarian assistance to vulnerable individuals on the ground in Tanzania, Mexico, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic, working for four NGOs and international organisations.

An Advanced PADI Scuba Diver, Madelaine has travelled to over 45 countries. She was the Vice-President of Oxford Law Society and the Social Secretary for Jesus College Law Society while studying at Oxford University. Stimulated by the learning of languages, Madelaine attended intermediate French conversation classes and successfully studied Spanish to fluent level, recently passing the CEREL Legal Spanish exam.”
