Hello, I’m Kira Lavorko, a 17-year-old passionate about fostering global peace and understanding through diplomacy, language, and volunteer work. Hailing from Ukraine, a country with a rich history and a commitment to promoting peace, I am excited to apply to the Global Peace Chain initiative.

Languages have always been a bridge for me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. I am fluent in English, German, French, Polish, Russian, and, of course, Ukrainian. These languages have allowed me to communicate effectively and build relationships with people from around the world.
During a period of conflict in my homeland, I actively volunteered, providing support and meals to refugees and those affected by the war. This experience reinforced my belief in the importance of peace, unity, and humanitarian efforts.

My participation in the AFS Global program expanded my horizons, exposing me to various cultures and perspectives. It deepened my commitment to global peace and inspired me to work towards building a more harmonious world.
I also had the privilege of participating in Model United Nations (MUN) conferences, where I honed my diplomatic skills and learned the value of dialogue and negotiation in resolving international issues.
In applying to the Global Peace Chain, I aspire to contribute my language skills, cultural understanding, and volunteer experience to promote peace and cooperation on a global scale. I believe that by fostering connections, understanding, and dialogue among individuals from different backgrounds, we can build a more peaceful and inclusive world.

I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals through this initiative and look forward to working together towards a brighter and more peaceful future for all.
