Growing up as a Pacific Islander from the Federated States of Micronesia, I’ve come to acknowledge the many global issues our island nation faces. A large portion of my work focuses on climate change and the environmental challenges brought forth from its effects. However, upon my transition to the United States for University studies, I became much more aware of the multitudes surrounding civil injustices and social intolerance. Myself, along with people whom I know, have faced discrimination and intolerance towards diversity. Though I firmly believe that a community of all upbringings and backgrounds bring forth the best in each other. We CAN live in peace together!
Moreover, I wish to help build resilience by cultivating a culture of tolerance and an inclusive mindset in order to promote social peace-building across the world.
