“Hi. My name is Ishan Patel and I am AN Asian Indian American, from Connecticut, United States of America. Over the course of my high school years, I have achieved numerous achievements both inside and outside of school. In school, I am a high honor student who is the Vice President of the Future Business Leaders of America(FBLA) club, President of DECA, and lead scout for my robotics team. Outside of school, I hold the second-highest position in my Civil Air Patrol Squadron, I am the creator of a podcast, and the social media lead for a non-profit organization, and I have been awarded the Connecticut Associations of Boards of Education Leadership Award from the state of Connecticut. Although I am very grateful for these achievements, I do not think they clearly illustrate who I am, so let me start again.
Hi. My name is Ishan Patel and I am a 16-year-old who loves the color red. Ever since I can remember, the color red has appealed to me. I became so attracted to the color red that I even started wearing it to school. My friends would ask me why I always wore the same T-shirt or the same sweater. Little did they know that I had different sweaters and T-shirts, but most of them were red. The color red defines me. The way I look at it, red signifies courage, daringness, resilience, and passion, but at the same time, it signifies warmth and compassion. As someone who proudly wears the color red, this color has given me the strength to defy any stereotypes and excel both inside and outside of school. Red has also given me the ability to care for my family, friends, and those in need of love.”
