I enrolled in the Department of General Medicine’s program of the University of Prishtina after receiving the highest score on the entrance exam. Because of my academic excellence, I have also been rewarded with multiple scholarships from my university, and in my final year was awarded a distinction from the Faculty of Medicine, for being the best student of the academic year 2020-2021. I am currently pursuing my goal of becoming a scientist at the Department of Biomedicine, University Hospital Basel. I have been a part of Project ATOMI since 2013, which identifies people with extraordinary intelligence via standardized tests that are recognized by ETSN, ECHA and MENSA, and support them in their future endeavors. Throughout the years, I have also chosen to contribute to society by volunteering in a range of different projects and initiatives. I worked on medical projects for Kosovo’s Organization of Medical Students (KOMS), the most significant of which was in partnership with UNICEF for the Covid-19 pandemic immunization effort, where I volunteered as maintenance staff. This manner of working has been in perfect alignment with my upbeat and enthusiastic nature and it has had a significant impact on my leadership skills, as well as my communication and teamwork abilities. For the time being, I am a member of the KOMS alumni, which allows me to contribute with project ideas and advise current members on ways to improve the organization’s management. In addition, I completed the YMCA leadership program, which includes exercises in constructive and critical thinking as well as debate, teamwork, leadership, volunteering, and team-building efforts. In terms of my biggest strength, I’d say it’s my perseverance. Most of my success may be attributed to my ability to remain focused on what I want to accomplish, regardless of the challenges.
