Chris Omara is the founder of Peace Foundation Uganda, a non-governmental organization which supports Uganda’s democratic development and the protection of human rights. He also founded Beacon of Hope (BOP) with a focus on Youth, Child Mothers, and Women literacy through education, economic empowerment by offering access to sustainable soft skills and mentorship. Chris was recently named Forbes under 30 and a Global peace Ambassador.
Chris actively participates in several non-governmental organizations as a youth coordinator and trainer focusing on human rights, public health and the integration of vulnerable groups into society. Furthermore, Chris has taken part in several seminars and trainings in order to strengthen his knowledge and experience in human rights, cross-cultural communication and lifelong learning. Chris is very passionate about democratic governance, poverty reduction, environmental conservation, justice, human rights, education for all, transparency, inclusion and Equity/Equality.
Additionally, Chris is an active scholarly member of Italian Diplomatic Academy, established to train future leaders from countries in transition, as well as the Ugandan Foundation for Strategic and International Studies, an independent policy think-tank in Uganda aimed at educating young leaders in foreign policy. He has participated in conferences and study courses in the United States, Canada and various countries throughout Europe and Africa. Some of the conferences he participated in are; The United Nation Youth Assembly, World Bank Youth Summit, World Youth Economic Forum, The Obama African Leadership boot camp, World Youth Forum, Prague Conference on Political Economy, Annual Conference on the Economic Assessment of European Climate Policies, International Conference and Utility Exhibition on Green Energy for Sustainable Development, International Innovative Applications of Computational Intelligence on Power, Energy and Controls with their Impact on Humanity and International Interdisciplinary Conference on Land use and Water quality , Agriculture and the Environment.
