“My name is Biron Lozano I am a social leader from Colombia and audiovisual producer I am 28 years old and since I was 13 I have been working in community social processes in vulnerable communities, in 2009 one of my greatest challenges began and it was to see how they murdered in my community Young people, friends and neighbors of my neighborhood, I had to face the greatest fear of the human being to save his life along with that of my friends because in Colombia there is a social phenomenon misnamed “”social cleansing”” which is the extermination of human lives and goes Aimed at young people, we were singled out as criminals when we never were, they only murdered us because the military and police needed recognition medals and to be promoted by casualties who did. in combat.
Being young for those years was not easy, one became a military target.
So I decided to undertake one of my biggest projects called “”festival of social cleansing, cleansing of mind and heart, something very controversial because it bore the same name that killed us but if the purpose was another to give life through art, many of the young Those who murdered were artists, entrepreneurs, that is why we decided to start doing activities to promote human rights and seeking a dialogue with the government for 4 years, we reached more than 100,000 young victims of the conflict through conferences, motivational videos and cultural activities project to participate in various scenarios and spaces for national and international participation ñ, in 2013 I was invited to Los Angeles California and San Diego CA to juvenile correctional facilities and there to talk with young former gang members, we worked together with the institute of the Americas in a social and cultural project, in 2015 I was selected and we obtained 1st place for the national Ideli award otor awarded by the Eran Univer city of Colombia for the best project of social innovation and cultural practices, in 2016 I was invited to give two conferences to TED X Bogotá and Tedx Gymnasium to talk about the different processes and the impact on each of them. It opened doors in 2017 to apply for the XVI United Nations Youth Summit in New York This time talking about human rights representing Colombia, that is why the organization I represent is called the youth area dedicated to the creation and promotion of alternative communication spaces in digital media linking television programs and a radio station.
Currently I am a director of media and cinematography in my city, a position in which he was awarded by vote of democracy.”
