Mr. IGIRANEZA is a Counter-Terrorism (CT) and Prevention and Countering of Violent Extremism (PCVE) expert from Burundi. He worked with the African Centre for the Study and Research on Terrorism (ACSRT) as research Assistant. He is one of the two main researchers who initiated the Africa Terrorism Bulletin (ATB) which is published by the ACSRT and has participated in production of 20 editions. He achieved several executive courses and vocational trainings, including Building a Natiobal Strategy for Prevention of Violent extremism executive course from the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) ; Border Security, Refugees and CounterTerrorism and Counterterrorism, Building Capacities through trainings and Education executive courses from From the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)’s Centre Of Excellence Defense Against Terrorism (NATO-COEDAT-Ankara). Prior to joining the ACSRT, Mr. IGIRANEZA worked with various International Institutions and NGOs in various capacities. He is the founder of the Initiative Agenda 2063 and has a strong leadership experience in Youth movements and Civil Society Organizations. Mr Aristide IGIRANEZA is currently the Burundi Focal Point for the Peace and Security Commission of the Panafrican Youth Union.
