India

I am Anushree. I grew up in a town called Jamalpur from the state of Bihar in India. I cleared an examination to pursue graduation from one of the top ranked university of the country- Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

For my master’s degree I received the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship by the European Commission for a joint master degree programme and pursued studies in England, Norway and Germany. My thesis research study focused on gender roles in ethnic communities. Later, I also received Women Empowerment Scholarship for Developing nations by the ‘Intern Group’ and did an internship in Madrid, Spain.

I am a social development practitioner and have experiences of working with national and international organizations like United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP), ASHOKA (Spain), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports etc.

Within my limited experience, I have worked across diverse geographies and have a deep interest in the political, social and economic aspects of the development sector. My work experience comprises attaining SDGs though strategic planning, developing DPRs for poverty reduction and value chain creation- for regions affected by poor socio-economic indicators. Both my passion and motivation is to work in challenging and hard-to-reach geographical locations, majorly affected by poverty, conflict and basic amenities of life.

I am also an adventure enthusiast and a certified (advance degree) mountaineer. I have been part of and also led expeditions in Himalayas and in Alps. My associations with mountains and nature as a whole, and the issues of climate change becoming a critical problem in past two decades has recently sharpened my desire to work for environmental programmes. For this, I have successfully received certifications from ‘United Nation Climate Change’ under the following headings:

1.) ‘Climate Change International Regime’
2.) ‘Climate Change From Learning to Action’
3.) ‘Advance Course on Indicators for an Inclusive Green Economy’
