I’m from Ukraine and when the occupation began my way as a changemaker started.
I volunteered in charitable organizations and independently of them for Ukrainian army. When a full-scale war began I collected humanitarian aid and worked as a teacher-volunteer of English and biology for children from Ukraine. Then, when I moved to Poland, I started to think about other global issues. I learnt 3 other languages: English, Italian, Polish and started make changes.
I was very interested in working on the UN goal “Health and well-being” and after participating in a project from Vilnius Tech University (in Lithuania), I programmed AI to recognize cells in a sample. It helps to speed up the drug development process, medical research and analysis.
Also, i won a scholarship from AFS Global STEM Accelerators in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania. There they taught us how to work on self-reflection and on an evaluation how each of us can best help our communities and work with people all over the world. There I made a project, an app for people affected by war where they can get free psychological help around the world and also just share their stories and be heard.
My experience and desire to offer ideas and solutions gave me the opportunity to receive a grant in Change the World model UN conference in New York 2024 and Paris 2024. I began to attach more importance to the development of leadership qualities and the importance of each person and his efforts, knowledge, perseverance in working on global problems of the world.
Then, I was invited on the international conference “Culture and Imaginary Facing the War” in Vilnius. There we discussed importance of culture, what wars mean for Europe and the world as a whole and how to prevent recurrences in the future.
