One story changes my vision of my role in the world. My travel experience to Brussels is worth more than only travel experience and learning a new culture. He is one of the refugees from Iran. He lost his family during terror time. Furthermore, he has experienced pain and knows the price for peace. Related to his pain, he found his way to help people. His story starts from pain, but it was his power. He found his own activity to heal himself. It was art. Now an art calligraphy center in Brussels helps a hundred children from refugee families. This man makes an everyday step toward social development. In his free time, he walks around the city and makes professional pictures of nature, buildings, flowers, etc. for students’ research papers. This travel taught me to be kind, noble and appreciate more simple things in the world. Be unique, find your way, be wise, and strive for your goals.
My study in Engineering Management shows me a wonderful world of infinite knowledge, only the atmosphere of professors and talented young people excite me. I have learned much more than the theoretical part. I have been inspired by genius ideas and a creative way of thinking. I understand that all difficult questions have answers, just think bigger and out of the box. Many useful tools were created for problem-solving and in my opinion brainstorming and teamwork are the best ones.
During my research for master thesis, I am getting into the topic deeper. My studies have led me to Smart Grids, Smart meters, IoT, E-vehicles EV. Further I get acquaintance with global impact of EV, especially cobalt mining for EV batteries. Global impact of EV, Smart technology and 17 sustainable development goals keep my attention. I found my passion. Science, Smart Grid, EV and Sustainability.

Now I am doing internship as a Research assistant in Computer Engineering lab, Akdeniz University. More detailed research of EV, smart parking led me to data driven methods, machine learning, digital twin, mapping and communication sensors. I am working on smart parking solution for EV and micromobility (e scooters). My task is analysing data, made descriptive statistic, enhance data driven method and identify reliable parking spot. I have applied clustering method using MATLAB, Python. Parking allocation performance was made by identification of high-use street and parking demand level. I am still working on practice part. Honestly, I feel enthusiastic when read interesting scientific paper. Great and unique ideas are created when made collaboration between different disciplinaries. Security and safety are challenge issues for EV. Also, I am interested in Digital Twin technology which can be a good solution to increase safety for self-driving cars. Nowadays IoT sensors and Digital twin technology are implemented to predict collapse of bridge in Norway. In a future I would like to work towards safety challenges of EV and Digital Twin technologies.
Digital Transformation has challenges in security and data privacy. As well as Artificial Intelligence integration into social life of people need further accurate research and social awareness. And I want to work toward the following project
Sustainable Me: A persuasive social AI for adopting sustainable lifestyles.
As a social volunteer I found my passion as Virtue Foundation Healthcare Researcher.
It is not connected, however I passionate about smart technologies, healthcare, social inequality and want to work toward 17 SDG in social and engineering fields. VF healthcare project taught me to think bigger and see opportunities to change the world. Especially global impact of cobalt mining was introduced for me not only as a scientific challenge and as social inequality challenge. With more social impact to quality of life and healthcare system in Democratic Republic of Congo. I have researched Healthcare facilities in South Africa countries, Ukraine, Tajikistan and Central America. Two civil wars in Liberia, Genocide in Rwanda, lack of water in Uganda, sexual violence in DR Congo won’t be solved by themselves. It is big challenge for the World. There are so many challenges in the world. Sustainable lifestyle started from us. Increasing social awareness about no electricity in Africa, no food, no water and no medical services might change the vision of other people and will change priorities.

Best regards, Aknur
