My name is Sharon Matiya a marketing student at the Midlands state University.Member of the Rotary International which believes in service above self.Miss Tourism Mashonaland Central 2010 which involved charity work ,the underprivileged and marketing destination Zimbabwe as a peaceful destination for tourism.As Miss Tourism also advocated for women against domestic violence. Grew up in the rural areas of Zimbabwe where women where not
given equal opportunities of education and employment and this made women to engage in early forced marriages this made me engage in youth and women empowerment programs which involves education for all regardless of gender.I also represented Zimbabwe at the 17th World festival of youth and students and the theme was ‘Lets defeat Imperialism for world peace,solidarity and social transformation.’ I am currently studying towards an honours degree in Marketing.I am a digital strategist ,Public relations by profession.I am a Tourism ambassador and duties include marketing my country as a peaceful destination.Grew up in the rural areas of Zimbabwe and that made me see the needy to work with rural community which involves advocating for peace and against early forced marriages and against domestic violence.It also include sourcing school fees for the underprivileged.I also have experience in teaching that enabled me to identify problems faced in our education system and advocate for youth empowerment .
