I am Prajesh Khanal, a proud citizen of Nepal. I am an Environmentalist & Child Rights Activist working for a clean, green, peace, safe & child friendly world. I am pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. I am the founder of “I Consume My Oxygen”, a campaign focused on inspiring and sensitizing teens, students and youth towards environment conservation. I have worked in different social youth-led and child-led organizations in different designations since 2013. Previously, I served as the President of Municipal Child Network, Damak Municipality, which is the official and formal space for children and teenagers to contribute to and engage in the planning, execution and evaluation process of Office of the Municipal Executive. I had also lead Helping Hands, a Non-profit youth organization as the Central Committee Vice Secretary previously for a term. I also served as Ex officio Member of Social Protection Task Force, chaired by Damak Municipality, which comprises representatives of related organizations including UNHCR for the social protection and promotion of Bhutanese Refugees. Currently, I am guiding and helping younger generation of leaders as the Advisor of Eco Friendly Himalaya Club and Advisor of Municipal Child Network, Damak Municipality, Damak, Jhapa. I am also involved as a Member at International Youth Committee, and as a Member of International Association of Engineers (IAENG).
I have been felicitated and recognized as Glocal’s 20 Under 20 (2017) amongst the award gala of Glocal Teen Hero 2017 as an Environmentalist. My works have been featured in the Digital Book entitled “Teens for Sustainable Development Goals” published by Glocal Pvt. Ltd. and UNDP, as one among the “seventeen exemplary teens who have been working and supporting the different Global Goals”.
I am a recognized trainer cum facilitator on Child Friendly Local Governance (CFLG), Bal Bhela(Child Convention), Child Centered Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Digital Media and Classroom/Community Based Psychosocial Intervention (CBI). I have attended the Glocal International Teen Conference (GITC) 2017 as Participant, and GITC 2019 as a Speaker of Socio-Perspective Panel.
