Nádya Silveira is a Brazilian researcher in the field of International Security and Human Rights, she holds a bachelor degree in International Relations from Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas) and is currently a post-graduate student in Human Rights and Ethnic-Social Issues. As an undergraduate student, she was involved in several extracurricular projects, the most significant being MINIONU, the biggest MUN in Latin America. In the 4 years working in the minionu, she saw the importance of giving a voice to young people and the need to bring international politics into people’s daily lives. Her work focuses on combining security issues with the importance of human rights, being chosen as Minas Gerais State Research Fellow (FAPEMIG) with her work on human rights violations in Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp. In addition to research experience, she lived in Cairo, Egypt where she interned in the area of ​​International Marketing, promoting ideas for the Africa Cup of Nations. Aside from speaking three languages ​​(Portuguese, English, and Spanish), her curiosity and willingness to learn new things and cultures led her to study French and Russian. Her interests are related to security, counter-terrorism, peace/conflict negotiations, and the notion of Exception, being currently focused on SGD number 16, Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
