Lipuo is a Philanthropist, entrepreneur and a peace and democracy practitioner and agent from Lesotho. She worked for United Nations Development Programme in areas of governance and peacebuilding for four years before she joined Democracy Works Foundation where she works on a programme that strengthens the ability of political parties in Southern Africa to develop and implement participatory policies around access to sustainable water supply, clean water, and clean energy, using evidence-based knowledge, while at the same time enhancing a democratic political culture that supports the meaningful participation of women, youth and marginalised individuals.
Having grown in s small town where thousands of people were killed in traditional music gang wars, she believes its about time everyone took responsibility to intentionally stand against violence and injustices, and promote human rights and rule of law. Lipuo believes Peace is a journey and a process that requires inclusivity. Free and fair participation of women, youth and marginalised groups can bring unity among people. Unity is a recipe for strong institutions, that can in turn promote rule of law. |
