Ibrahim Oyedele is a British Nigerian. He was born in Nigeria and had his first degree in Computer Science. He then decided to pursue a master’s degree in United Kingdom and obtained M.Sc. in Network and Computer Systems Security. He is an IT Security Professional with over 10 years of experience and holds several numbers of certifications – CISM, CISA, SABSA-SCF, PCIP, VCP5, MCSA, ITIL.
In 2014, he joined University of East London as IT Specialist. Through a mentoring scheme set up by the University, he helped many students (undergraduate & Postgraduate) from various ethnic background made an informed decision, took responsible actions in their lives, contributed to their communities and shaped their world around. He represented the Deputy Vice Chancellor at the Muslim Youth Focus Group (MYFG) set up in September 2014 by Metropolitan police on multiple occasions, where he helped promote and inspired young British Muslims into playing an active role in speaking out against hatred and extremism. Ibrahim alongside other young people worked hard with Met Police through monthly Muslim Youth Focus Group to plan the first counter-radicalisation Muslim Youth Festival in Mach 2015.
Through his UK mentoring programme, he has helped many youths both in Nigeria and UK to discover a career path, gaining skills and experience, exploring possible pathways and building resilience amongst all.
