Gertrude

Zimbabwe

Gertrude was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. She grew up in a number of different countries and a
number of schools to which she says it gave her a different prospective of learning how to
school, work and adapt to different cultures. Gertrude is an MSc Global Health student, Her BA
is in Library Information Science and a diploma in IT. Passionate about health and peace with a
particular interest in the health rights of women, girls and refugees as a key population. In the
last five years she has been involved in Community projects with local NGOs which include
healthcare and Nutrition to Pregnant women and children and computer classes for the young
children. Projects with the UN, Ministry of Poverty Eradication, GIZ and the Youth Council to
mention a few.
Passionate about SDGs she hopes to empower the youth, to always constantly stay informed, be
part of the decision making process on issues that concern the Youth in their respective
industries, countries and the youth to take and be accountable. Gertrude has been fortunate to
attend numerous youth conferences on SDGs, and has also been part of the draftsman on the
Mahogany declaration which was signed in Belize 207 at the IYC world conference. During her
free time she volunteers at the cancer society.
