Didier was born in South Kivu (DRC) and has spent much of his life in Goma in North Kivu province.
After his high school education, he returned to Bukavu to pursue a degree in Rural Development Studies. His leadership skills earned him the election by his fellow students as delegate for five years in a row.
His commitment to peace issues began at the University by joining youth mouvements such as the Friends of Nature Club, CYNESA (Catholic Youth Network for Environmental Sustainability in Africa), SFL (Students for Liberty) in which he participated in several seminars and conferences in DR Congo and Burundi, IDEAS FOR US_DRC and the Caucus of Youth Organisations for Peace and Sustainable Development where he was a member of the leading team participating in the organisation of several conferences and dialogues between youths from different ethnicities in South Kivu province discussing peaceful cohabitation and conflict resolution.
After his university studies in 2018, he worked as a supervisor of students in scientific activities in Bukavu, Goma and Kaziba, and worked in the humanitarian field in the province of North Kivu in the DRC for a year.
Didier is still involved in the youth movements and is currently a studying for a Master’s degree in Governance and Regional Integration in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
