Deng William Alaak is a Global Peace Ambassador as well as Global Goodwill Ambassador and
has over seven years of experience working with youth, students, community youth leaders,
children and young women in South Sudan and helps them meet their potential vision to become
peace ambassadors, young leaders and change agents. He is a transformational leader and social
change agent who believes in turning his vision into reality through strategic coalitions and
harmonized action. Deng is an Alumni of East Africa Youth Leadership, Open Sources Leaders,
and Africa Change Makers. Deng recently founded African Youth Alliance for Sustainable
Development Goals (AYA4SDG) to achieve SDGs Vision 2030. Deng earned a degree in human
development from Upper University in South Sudan and a credential certificate of conflict
resolution education from Whitaker Peace and Development initiative with support from
UNESCO. As the youth leader and trainer for seven years and representing youth at the current
peace talk and Executive Director for Voice for Peace, Protection and Development, he has helped
to mentor more than 20000 youth over the years with the majority of them taking up leadership
positions at government institutions, non-governmental organizations, private sectors, and in
society at large. Deng has also worked closely with local authorities, students and youths in
communities and government institutions to promote inclusivity and helps strengthen the
transparency and openness of public funds, thereby helping promote social accountability and
restore the public's confidence in public service. Deng believes in the power of community and the
will of its youth to achieve positive change. Through his work both within and outside his
prescribed organization, he has honed invaluable skills in leadership training, conflict resolution
training, project management, leadership growth and development, capacity building, youth
development, relationship management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
