My name is Akhona Xotyeni from a small town Bhisho in the Eastern Cape. I am currently doing my Postgraduate Diploma/Honours in Environmental Management at the Stellenbosch University in South Africa. I consider myself to be a humanitarian and an environmentalist, and particularly passionate about climate change. I have various involvements on campus and in the broad South African and international community. To mention a few of my involvements, I am an ambassor for the International Earth Hour for WWF, I am the Campus and Community Outreach director for the Stellenbosch University Golden Key Chapter, I have attented the 2019 PAGE Ministerial Conference as a delegate, I attended the UNASA Stellenbosch Chapter Human Rights Conference and I am a member. I signed up for Green Peace South Africa,UNICEF South Africa,Amnesty International in South Africa, I attended the Green Campuses Conference for university students and i also attended the Action 24 Workshop and I was selected to be a delegate at the 2019 Bali Asia Model United Nations. I am a passionate young leader who aims to erradicate social injustice and serve others. I am mostly passionate about the interdisciplinary between climate change and social issues.
